Yesterday I took my son John to Western Michigan University for another audition. Western is not as competitive as University of Michigan, but is still regarded as a very good music school.
John and I were both very favorably impressed. The faculty was very kind and personable. They seemed supportive and dedicated to teaching. Like Michigan, they will only accept maybe 14 new piano performance majors. And they also had five faculty evaluating John's audition. But unlike Michigan, they also interviewed him and gave him feedback and encouragement. They asked about his career goals and they told him they were impressed with his selections as well as his playing.
John left feeling that if Michigan does not accept him he has another very good alternative choice. He will either end up a little fish in a big pond (Michigan) or a big fish in a little pond. Either situation has its advantages May the Lord's will be done. I want to see him where the Lord wants him to be. Thank you for your prayers.

I'm glad for him that he has had 2 positive experiences so far with his auditions. May he be blessed in his educational & musical careers.
Yes, where the Lord wants is always the best! He will bless this because you both have such a good attitude.
Thank you, Barb. I hope so, Suzanne.
