Obama, the Mama

I have been quite critical of Michelle Obama at times on this blog. But I hear she has called herself the "mom-in-chief" in the White House. How cool is that? I love it. You go, Michelle.

Heather Cabot wrote an interesting article on this in the Huffington Post entitled "What the Mom-in-Chief Means to Moms."

"Whether you've opted out, opted in, on-ramped, off-ramped and back again, you have to appreciate what a breath of fresh air it is to finally hear a striving Supermom like Obama admit that even she needs to make tough choices when it comes to career and family. By focusing on her self-titled role, "mom-in-chief," for the first year in the White House, she seems to be a woman who understands that having it all doesn't necessarily mean having it all at the same time."
Cabot goes on to say,
"By calling herself "mom-in-chief," Obama sends a strong message that being a mom means being a leader, an attribute that mothers often overlook in their parenting roles. By celebrating her position rather than apologizing for it, she connects the notion of leadership beyond the walls of corporate suites and presidential mansions to the homes of average parents."
Yeah! I encourage you to read the whole article.

I found it intelligent and well written.

I like the title, but I'm still not sure about the "momma" part there.
I know she is truly big on keeping abortion alive and well too...oh,
there I go again with all my negativity on this, but I still feel just like with Hillary, we need to pray for her...behind every man is.....
I'm going to my church in just a little while. Father Bill wants a big bulletin board that leads into the church up the stairway to be the educational "push" for the postcard campaign coming up next weekend. He will be using his homily time at four Masses this weekend and next to talk about it all and inform the people of the seriousness of this. You go, Father Bill! I pray that they will listen to him and mail their postcards and call. Also, we will have information in the bulletins, so people HAVE to at least hear or read something! Keep praying!
I am not going to the march, but two of my young folks are..Crista and Shane. Please keep them in your prayers for a safe trip and a thoroughly good learning experience about staying pro-life and determined to be so forever!
Also, please keep prayers that Shane can keep up with his studies during all this. He gets behind and messes up and we don't need to go there...its so hard getting him used to the way the outside school world works...there are some things I'd change about homeschooling with regard to some night work and also alot more note taking...he didn't do so well in those areas and its showin!
Have a blessed day, Rosemary!

Suzanne, I agree that we need to pray for Michelle Obama. And indeed, she doe not merit the title Mama in regard to the unborn. Still, I'm happy to see her place the needs of her children first and I like the title "mom-in-chief." (I'm happy to like anything she says, you know?)
