Weight Loss Wednesday

Accountability Numbers:

This Week:  Up 1/2 pound

Overall:  Down 8 and a half pounds

Why did I gain a half pound this week?  Cheezits and Halloween candy.  That's it.

But to tell you the truth, I can scarcely think of anything but the abandonment of the unborn in yesterday's election by everyone who voted for Obama.  That so many voted for him who still claim to be pro-life is astonishing to me.

We have no idea who Obama is besides a far left liberal with no respect for human life.  May God speak to his heart and may he experience conversion.

Halloween is not good for one's weight, I agree.

Rosemary,
I didn't weigh in yesterday. I spent my morning praying and not going out until later and then went to church to pray and Danny and I took the Holy Eucharist to some elderly ladies. I didn't care about WW or much else yesterday either.
I am as saddened and as appalled as you. I long to understand and to actually hear from anyone out there who are Catholic and would like to explain their choice. There has to be reasons...why don't they come forward and explain how they can see anything was more important than protecting God's smallest. I wonder if they even can explain it. I have a feeling if they actually were to sincerely make that effort, they would stop in mid air trying to...because simply put...everyone of our lives hinge on the beginning of our life...nothing else matters first and foremost and the senseless killing of this life only brings on more selfishness and serious dark depression by most. Explain...anyone out there care to?
We'll see......

Rosemary and Suzanne,
I'm very sad, too. Suzanne's post on her wonderful blog a few weeks ago on life in a liberal college town made me smile. You could have been writing about the city where I live, except we're in New England.
I think most people who voted for Obama voted out of concern for their wallet, nothing more. Life, and the effort to promote a Culture of Life isn't on the agenda. As so well noted, we know very little about him, save that he is the most liberal, pro-choice senator.
Now, he's the most pro-abortion president this country ever elected.
I think the 2009 March for Life in Washington, D.C. should be interesting. If I'm not mistaken, it should fall around the time of Obama's swearing-in. Good mission territory!

I'm not sure who Gail is but would love to know you more. Thank you for your comment here to me on Rosemary's blog. Its hard living here at times. It is home for now though and I am trying to allow it to be a place where I can reasonably be happy. I think if Danny could retire though, we'd be leaving and I would not be sad. The influences for the youth are not good and I have to pray and be a watch person alot because of that, as young teens don't understand how they can easily be swayed, but I can see it..its happened before my very eyes and many liberal parents live here and go with the flow. I am trying to lighten up a bit though because if I become any more SERIOUS in attitude, I may push them in the wrong direction. Its just interesting...let me just say that.

Gail and Suzanne, and I'm in Ann Arbor, MI, home of the annual hash bash and the University of Michigan. It's so liberal it's almost comical. But in the midst of it all we have a wonderful Catholic parish (actually a couple of them, with faithful priests.
Gail, yes, the March for Life should be interesting this year. i have never been to one. Maybe we should all go and meet there!
