Obama-Do you REALLY want this man to be president?

Change you can believe in...

Have you Obama supporters thought about what on Earth that means?

Change, in and of itself, is neither good nor bad.  Obviously, it depends on what the change is.

Do you know what Obama really stands for?

Does it bother you that his campaign slogan is meaningless?

It bothers me.  Nearly everything he says on the campaign trail is vague and just feel-good empty rhetoric.

Have you wondered why early in his political life he held a campaign event in the living room of unrepentant domestic terrorist Bill Ayers?  Would you do anything with a man who had bombed the Pentagon and does not regret it?  Do you want a President who was willing to do that?

Do you want a President that thinks it's all right to leave in the trash a baby who has survived an abortion?  Do you?

You Catholics, if you believe that an unborn baby is a human being, have you considered that if vote for Obama you might bear some responsibility for the unborn lives who will be lost?  My pastor believes you may.

Obama is a far left radical candidate with a profound disrespect for human life.

Who do you really want for President?  If you don't want to vote for McCain, at least stay home!!!

Yes, I really do want Obama to be my President and it's very likely that I will get my wish. Last I heard, McCain only has a 3.3% chance of winning.

I can see your concerns about abortion, but that is not the only issue to be concerned with in a President. How many more people would die on both sides if McCain were to continue this war and possibly start others? That temper of his is a real concern as is his habit of rash action. He has a love for war and a complete disdain for diplomacy and that is a very large concern for me.

And I have concerns about his honesty and integrity. You talk about Bill Ayers, but McCain's very good friend Charles Keating is in JAIL at this moment for criminal actions that have harmed 20,000 people. The McCains were very close friends with him and vacationed on his dime and at his estate at least NINE times.

That's a big concern as are his womanizing ways. He is well known for this and cheated on his first wife (who was disabled) with Cindy. A man who doesn't even attempt to honor the most important promise of his life isn't going to honor a promise to me.

It's a package deal. You may get someone who agrees with you on abortion, but you get all this other baggage with it and Palin too. Her ethics seem even worse than his and she has already been judged to have used her power improperly in her past positions. I don't see that pattern changing in the White House.

Zig Ziglar says you can't make a good deal with a bad guy. And while I respect your views, I think John McCain is a bad guy and I don't want anything to do with him.

Fewer have died in this "war" in Iraq than babies aborted in the same said "war" years. By far and wide. People who do not defend life or marginalize it only do so because it doesn't seem personal enough for them to bother. I absolutely loathe the idea that if he passes his notorious Planned Parenthood promise, taxpayers will have no choice but to fund abortion mills. At least people outside the womb can make choices - unlike those inside it.

Zig Ziglar? Uff dah!

To Adrian...nothing of what you said is as nearly disturbing as the arrogance and determination of the absolute support of ending millions of more lives in the womb. Don't you get it? Arrogant...that would be one word that I would describe both Obama and Biden. Perhaps you do not believe in sorrow and being ashamed for what one has done..perhaps with regard to McCain's past for which he has publically apologized for and which he has not avoided opening up about. Certainly not something to be proud of, however, being willing to stay in torture because other friends could not be let out, was heroic. Adopting a child who really needed help was and is a great thing to do in our time and he and Cindy have done this. I haven't seen O taking the same unselfish steps...no, he'd rather simply END the life of that child and millions of others instead of helping to care for one with his time even more than his money. He speaks of helping, yet his auntie and uncles live in poverty. He could help them all so much! Does he really care? I think not.
I challenge you to think that if a man is ready to allow for any child to be aborted for any reason whatsoever, if any man would allow a living breathing human being to die who may simply and only need medical attention to survive, then I question what he would do not only to his own, but to YOUR future generations. Perhaps the economy is all some are worried about. It is more concerning that we answer to God for His least.
I pray and hope you will pray and change your heart...Zig is not God.
I know you know that. Besides, O is not a "good old guy" either.

Karl Marx had good intentions, but it leads to staircases to nowhere. Socialism, Communism, any idea that gives people something for nothing, is a bad idea.

Literally, in Russia my brother and friend saw workers creating staircases to nowhere because they were paid to build and repair staircases. The staircases to building and apartments were in ruins, but the workers would build staircases into the sides of mountains. Because they were paid to build staircases… no one from the government would check on them. The government couldn’t check on every single worker to make sure work was productive. Bribes were how things got done. My brother lived in Russia for two years. To avoid danger they had to pay policeman. They didn’t nothing illegal… but corruption follows when the government takes over.

A free land, where people work for what they earn is what I want. If people want a better life, they need to work smarter and harder. They don’t need to settle for working a 9-5 job. This land was based on freedom to achieve dreams… not to be handed food, money, homes and healthcare for free.

I’ll stand by my freedom and the Declaration of Independence. It is an inspired document from God. The Founding Father’s were inspired men.

No one is perfect… people can twist and defame one or lift another to view them however they want. Bur for me “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness,” is something I hold dear, life being the most important of those. Notice “pursuit” is before happiness. It doesn’t entail us being handed everything for life. Satan is the one who puts into people’s hearts that they should get something for nothing.

We’re one of those losing our home because my husband has lost two of his three jobs this last year with the market tanking. We’re in this situation and we’re the ones, with the help of our God, who will get us out of this… not the arm of the flesh. Not the government. The governments place is not to “save those who make mistakes” purposefully or not. We need to deal with the consequences that come because of the choices in our lives. We’re good people; my husband works hard to start his business. We could say “poor me,” and say that “it’s not fair” for us to lose our house. But that is not honest or morally right. It happened because of the situation we’re in.

Granted there is a lot more to our situation then I have written, but suffice it to say that entitlement is not they way of the Lord. When the Savior was on this earth His Father didn’t take the pain and suffering away in the Garden of Gethsemane or on the Cross. He had a job to do, to save each one of us so we could return to our Father in Heaven when our work here on earth is complete.

We have freedom to choose, any may we choose wisely… not with the wisdom of earth, but with the wisdom of Heaven.

Wow, what great thoughtful comments. I love the discussion.

Adrian, thank you for commenting. I would add a few things though. There is no evidence at all that John McCain has a love for war. If anyone understands the horror of war, it's John McCain. There is also no evidence that he disdains diplomacy. Where are you getting these ideas? They sound like democratic talking points and they have no basis in fact. You can't believe everything people out there are saying.

In re to Keating, McCain did not remain friends with him AFTER it was revealed what he had done. Everyone can fall. Obama has been friends with Ayers, even writing a blurb for one of his books, AFTER knowing that Ayers was a domestic terrorist who is STILL unrepentent. There's a big difference.

McCain describes his infidelity to his first wife as the biggest mistake he has ever made. He is repentent. That is very significant.

Yes, there are other issues. I personally think Obama is wrong on all the other issues too. But even if I did not, a man who thinks a baby born after a botched abortion should be left to die is a man lacking in basic human integrity. Is he blinded by a desire for power. I can't come up with any excuse to explain such a position. He is in the pockets of the pro-abortion lobbyists and millions of babies will die under his watch, if indeed he is elected.

McCain could still win. Stranger things have happened. John Engler, a pro-life candidate for governor in Michigan, was losing by 14 percentage points 48 hours before the election. But Engler won that election. I am convinced it was the pro-life vote. It could happen tomorrow too.
