Happy New Year!!!!

Here are the new year's resolutions I currently have. (I will probably add more.)

1. Pray more!

2. Exercise more-- specifically, by taking Lucky for a walk every day and exercising at Curves at least twice a week, three if possible.

3. Pray more!

4. Lose some weight. Ask myself before I eat anything-- am I really hungry? Do I want to lose weight or have a few seconds of pleasure tasting something?

5. Pray more!

6. Keep a cleaner tidier house .

7. Throw stuff out or give it away!

8. Pray more!

9. Keep my mouth shut more.

10. Be a better guard of my thoughts.

Guess which one I think is most important?

(Hint: 1,3,5, and 8. If I put it down four times maybe I'll get the message. (smile)

May the Lord give us all the graces we need to be truly converted in the new year. And may he richly bless you and everyone you love in 2007!!!!!

That is a pretty good list.

Mine is similar.

1. Read scripture daily
2. Make prayer central to my life
3. Lose 10% of my weight

I dopped by to say "Hi" and thank you for your kind comments on myh last post and the painting.

Happy new year to you and all of yours.

Rosemary...good ones! I haven't written what I am going to work on...but more prayer and reflection, more praying at the abortion mill in town, better eating habits, and exercising. I'd love to communicate more with you about homeschooling...what are your children's ages..may I ask? Or have I?
If I have, my apologies...I'm am getting old! LOL! Anyway, we have such a small group of "older kids" in our support system here and a new mom to chat with about that sort of thing...would be so nice. My last two at home are barely 17...girl doing mostly 11th grade work and my almost 13 yr. old son doing between 7th and 8th grade work. Do you use a full curriculum such as Seton, or do you pick your own? Always like to know what others are doing out there? Suzanne

Curious Servant, thank you for dropping by and Happy New Year to you too. May we all keep our NY resolutions!

Suzanne, if you've asked I would not be the one to remember! My children are 22, 21, 17, 15, 12, and 10. However, I am a former home school mom. I did it for many years but my youngest children are starting their third year in school. I did love home schooling. I could suggest you visit the blog of a friend of mine who has homeschooled many children through high school. She doesn't post often but I think you could email her from her blog. She is at blessedbymany.blogspot.com .Patti is very giving of her time and knowledge and I have learned so much from her, in many different areas of my life. Still I'd like to talk to you anyway. (smile)God bless your new year!

Thanks, Rosemary. Did you stop because of high school? I always wonder why moms make the decision who loved it...but if that is personal...don't worry about a response...its okay..thanks for the other lady...somehow I reflect on hearing that blog title...maybe I've been there..will go to see...is she Catholic?
Well, I'll try to find out on my own.
Thanks again and yes, I'd still love to communicate more! I think one of my homeschool moms here moved down from Michigan and yet, it might be Minnesota...I need to ask The last name is Kubish. Heard of her? Suz

Rosemary,
I found Patti...yes, that is a mom I recall seeing the blog awhile back and for some reason, lost it...I don't know how to put things on my sidebar...Alexa did that for me, so I'll put it in my bookmarks. Thanks again. Suz

Suzanne, I stopped because I no longer felt that I was doing a good job. I had older children in two other schools and I, frankly, needed to be home more to do the job well. Too many commitments at the schools. That was the reason for sending my last two to school. Each of the others was an individual decision at the time. We redecided what to do with each child every year. Maybe I'll write a post about this. God bless your new year!!

Rose, if you lose weight you'll disappear altogether! LOL!

I have some informal resolutions -- I don't want to make them "official" because I have this notion that I'll just break them if I do, and then I'll be disappointed in myself.

But I can say this -- so far, so good! (Although it's only January 2!)

Ruthann, I will not disappear! LOL. Perhaps that's my problem with New Year's resolutions. I shouldn't make them formal!
