A new source of delight!

I bought this new bird feeder the other day and hung it on my porch right where I can see it from our front window.

I filled it with some seed I bought at Meijers.  But, so far, I have seen no birds come to it.  (No squirrels either, thankfully).  It's only been two days.  Either the birds are coming and I'm missing them or they haven't discovered it yet.  I guess two days is not very long.

Maybe they don't like this combination bird seed?  Maybe they just haven't noticed?  I got this style of feeder because I'm especially hoping for cardinals and the man at the store said this feeder would work well for them.

Well, here's hoping I will soon be feeding my feathered friends :-)

perhaps they are a bit shy of it at the moment, maybe when it has been there a little longer, they will frequent it. It looks a fine feeder :-)

I've really started noting birds more the past couple of years (there's a radio show I heard in the mornings called Birdnote that has helped) and have been greatly blessed.!

Enjoy!

They'll get there. When I first hung up my feeder it took the birds a few days to discover it.

I found a good kind of seed at Petsmart called Bird Basics. 40 pounds for about $12 and the birds don't "waste" it. With the stuff I bought at the supermarket, I was sweeping my sidewalk daily.

Hope you see some feathered friends soon!

It takes a while. Finches take about a week to find our place. Great blog..keep it up.

I love seeing bright red cardinals against the white snow!

This is off the subject, but I just love that picture of the statue of Our Lady you have. Is that in your house?

Have the birds started coming yet? I really need to get out and fill out bird feeder. We really enjoy watching them in our backyard.
