Where is the leadership in the Obama-Biden ticket?

I must make a couple comments about recent political events.

Biden actually said that when the stock market crashed in 1929 President Roosevelt got on TV and explained to the American people what was going on.

Hmmmm.  Except that Hoover was the president in 1929 and there were no TVs.

If Palin had made this gaff the media would be crucifying her.  Because of the ridiculously transparent liberal bias of the media, there has hardly been any mention of this outrageous display of Biden's ignorance.  What is almost more alarming is Biden's apparent willingness to speak without being sure of his facts.

Secondly, in Obama's response to McCain's suggestion that the debate be postponed Obama said (and I paraphrase) that he'd be happy to go to Washington if anyone thinks he could be of any help.

Say what?  If anyone thinks he could be of any help?  Does HE think he could be of any help? Apparently not.  What kind of leadership is this?  He'll go if anyone thinks he could be of help. This response is (as the kids would say) LAME!  Apparently, Obama has no ideas to contribute or hasn't the initiative to put them forward.

But are these words being shown in video clips on news shows?  No.  If you didn't see it live you probably won't see it.  Liberal bias.  It's pathetic.

So, that's my rant for today.

AND a good solid worthwhile rant it is!
I saw and heard about both of these things in a very quick way yesterday.
It is pathetic and it is beyond me why anyone cannot see how weak these two are. I feel like I'm watching a joke but it isn't a funny one...its about one of the most important elections EVER in our History!
People we gotta pray and people we gotta get the word out, because the media will continue to be bias. There is enough time to keep talking and we must. Another thing I've been trying to do, is offer up the hard part of WW and waiting holding off eating an extra few hours for a particular meal and offering it up as a fast type offering along with the rosary and that daily prayer that Father Pavone has asked us to pray. I also just sent in a Letter to our Editor (a slimy liberal newspaper we have here in our big university town) that my husband wrote about Obama and the Illinois deal concerning the babies born alive after botched abortions. It will get put in the paper in the next few days, most likely. If it changes one vote, its well worth it!

Suzanne, thanks. Can you post or link to your husband's letter? Would love to read it. It's a crazy election out there and, yeah, we need to pray!

A GREAT post, Rosemary.

I'm sitting here in Canada shaking my head with worry about the U.S. --

I don't want Canada to have a reason to not like the U.S.A. - they're not crazy about it in general anyhow.

ugh, it really bothers me how the media does favor one side and one side only. Thank goodness for FoxNews. It even's it out a little bit.

Rosemary,
I can type it out on my blog. Just remember, he had to condense it into 200 words, so the "wording" is a little casual...not perfectly good grammar, but not bad. The point is made. Danny writes a prolife type letter ever couple of months or so.
He has a few regular enemies who are VERY green, VERY pro-death..I mean plants definitely mean more than people..very sarcastic, but he continues on..not thinking he'll change those one or two, but just any one soul into at least reconsidering their beliefs. We live in a very liberal town. The Kinsey Institute was started here and still continues. You can go to Herald-Times.com just to see what is on the headlines of the internet page of our paper for the day. We have to put up with this mess all the time from our newspaper. We do not take it. I could care less if my children ever read it..except to do something like what their father does ... write good Letters to the Ed.! Anyway, go there and check it out today, speaking of Kinsey.
In the meantime, I'll type out Danny's letter in a bit here..maybe you'll see that tonight. He'll be happy you asked to read it. :) God bless.

Rosemary,
Maybe you don't want to bother with going to our paper site, since I just went and noticed that they switch the headline picture of the day around, off and on, I guess..anyway, it was an article and a big picture of all of these girlie porn type magazine covers were in the photo. I didn't read it, but was something the Kinsey Institute was looking into a study about or something. We also have wonderful (written with sarcasm here) articles about how many girls tried out for getting in a photo shoot for those type of mags...girls from IU, I mean...hope I'm making sense, and they'll splatter the article all over the front page.. real intelligent news, ya know. Yeah, right.

You're right. Biden should have gotten his facts right about the quote, but I'm afriad it's Republican leadership that has gotten us into this mess in the first place.

Anyone with common sense could see that the situation was getting out of control all over the board and the Republicans have had 8 years to rein it in, but failed to do so. I feel it's time to give someone else a chance and see if they can do better. I think this situation proves that they could hardly do worse.

However, regardless of who wins, I think they've got a heck of a mess to straighten out and I don't envy either one of them.

To be fair, Jon Stewart (a blatant liberal) did quite a piece about Biden's gaffe. I love your blog but I happen to side with Adrian here...McCain has been around for 20+ years but he thinks he can fix things tomorrow? Isn't the election process supposed to show us who would be better equipped to handle crisis in our country. The "show" must go on. Seems to me a debate might be just the thing to help voters understand the ideas and philosophies of each candidate.

Thank you all for your comments.
Adrian and Mrs. Marcos, I don't think you can blame this current crisis on the republicans. My understanding is that it's been building for decades. One primary problem that has fueled it is the granting of home mortgages to people who cannot afford them. The granting of mortages through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, to people who cannot qualify under traditional guidelines is something that well-intentioned but misguided democrats have long promoted.
