Sarah Palin-- my impressions

OK.

I'm going to go out on a limb here.  I know not everyone who reads this blog is a republican.  I also know that there are many good, sincere people who are democrats.  That being said...

I like Sarah Palin.

I like her because she is solidly prolife.  (No doubt about that!!!)

I like her experience.

I wonder how she can care for her children and still maintain her political life.  I don't know how she does it, but that is her business and I hope she has the resources and support from family to be able to do it well.  It is not the job of the public to evaluate her mothering.

I like that she has long hair that is not always perfectly in place.

She's feminine but not flashy or worldly looking.

She's tough but not shrill.

She's not a typical politician.  All I have heard indicates she has personal integrity.

And I love that she describes herself as a hockey mom who never intended to have a political career.

I bet she wears an apron in the kitchen!!

The hockey mom has my vote!!!!

What do you think?

My thoughts are almost identical to yours and there is very little I'd add. She sincerely loves her family, country and God. May God bless and protect her and her family..John McCain and his family and also a prayer that all others who are still not sure about who to vote for, to please truly study this whole situation where Obama is concerned...his high ideals and dreams ... are at the same time arrogant and way too starry eyed. Please for the sake of our country..our children's future, please encourage ourselves, yourselves, and your family and friends who plan to vote to pray and listen long and deeply about this..it is much too important.
Would we want our children to have the right one day to have how ever many children they hope God wants to bless them with, or do we want to see a country that can go low and have a leader who has so little respect for the unborn and handicapped in the womb, that he and his wife may even be most willing to end the life of one of their own?
Mr. McCain and Mrs. Palin want to help us attain and keep the freedoms that the Almighty wants us to have. His Creation of life is the most important.

I don't agree with her politically, but I do think she has a great biography, speaks well (though a bit shrill last night, I thought) and I think I'd greatly enjoy hanging out with her.

Well said, Rosemary! She has my vote and I agree with her on every issue that she has mentioned.

And I love her spunk -- she is a barracuda with lipstick and high heels.

My most read posts are those on Sarah Palin -- Obama is out of the limelight now and is getting desperate. One sign of this is his appearance on Fox News tonight. He needs to be afraid...VERY AFRAID!

As an Alaskan I really can say I love her. But I do feel bad that people keep bringing up that they worry about her family. If it was a man running, no one would say that because the wife would probably be home. Her husband stays at home full time I hear and people still say she needs to be at home. She is the provider in the family and I think it is great that they have at least someone at home. She really has done great with alaska and we love her :)

Ditto! Love her. It's interesting that Focus on the Family founder Dr. James Dobson, before SP was on the ticket, proclaimed he would NEVER cast a vote for McCain. Now he is. McCain may have just won the election with this brilliant stroke on the political canvas~in my humble opinion. SP adds excitement that wasn't there before.

And, I miss you, incidentally!!!!

I questioned her at first but now I too love her!

I'm one of your Democratic readers, but even if I weren't this woman scares me silly. She has so little experience, and seems to take such an unshakeable, unswerving approach to things. Since most of the things she is for are things I am against, I would be terrified to have this women in the white house in any capacity.

I also really question her decision to accept this position with a newborn child in tow. Even if he were perfectly healthy, this child needs and deserves her love and attention and I just don't see how she can do that and manage such a demanding job. Most new mothers I know can barely get a shower every day, let alone run a country.

Amen to that! I think she is great! I also think people are making too much of her daughter.
McCain had my vote regardless, but I'm so excited in his choice for VP!

I really like her, I was going to vote for McCain anyway, but she really sealed the deal and has me excited now.

I really love her too. I had hoped she might be on the ticket, but thought she had little or no chance getting the nod. I was impressed with her after reading in April her comments about her newborn son. The family welcomed him as a blessing and gift. No one has any right to judge another woman's mothering skills.

I'm pro-Palin because she is unabashedly pro-life. I think she will be a good counterpart to McCain.

So many people have said, "Who in the heck is Palin? We can't have her because no one knows who she is!" That's foolish -- before this election I had no clue who Romney was (other than the son of a former Michigan governor), or Huckabee, or most of the other folks whose names were bandied about early in the process.

Go, Sarah, go!

I like her too! And I'm voting for MCain!

As for her having the job of being a mother and working - I thought of that too - but she isn't just ANY working mom - she'll be the VP of the U.S.A. - she'll have people bringing the child to her every four hours to breastfeed if she wants to! She won't have to change a diaper while at work, but if she wants the crib by her desk, don't you know she can have that and a nanny too? It's not as though she has to rush home at 5:30 and make dinner, throw a load of laundry in, make brownies for junior's lunch box the next day and feed the dog! She'll go home and be with her family while the cook puts the dinner on the table AND cleans it up.

She's got it made in the shade, babe.

I don't think it's your typical working-mother syndrome here.

She's got my vote!

I hate liking her more because she's pretty - but I guess it helps!

Which is more than I can say for Hillary.
