Warning: Political Rant

I am utterly disgusted by the debate going on in the house over health care.

Why does no one question Nancy Pelosi when she says she has the votes to pass the bill? She obviously does not have the votes or she would be bringing it to the floor. To boldly declare something that is not true is to lie. Is there any reason there would be ongoing negotiations over the key votes if she already had enough?

Why would she lie? Perhaps to discourage her opponents? If they think it's over maybe they'll stop the phone calls to their congressmen? Maybe she wants people to get used to the idea in order to diffuse the opposition?

On Fox News Sunday, Gibbs and another democrat were going on and on about insurance companies raising their rates. They can't even have an honest discussion about policy without grandstanding about what are obviously their planned talking points. It was nauseating.

I'm disgusted with the democratic Congress. They are buying votes. In their arrogance they have decided they know better than the American people. They may even try to pass this bill without VOTING by using a procedural maneuver. This is politics at its ugliest. I hope the American people can see clearly now how very much the majority of democrats hold the average American man and woman in contempt. May they all be tossed out of office in 2010. They deserve to be sent home for their failure to represent the very clearly stated will of the majority of the American people.

I feel your frustration. I definently feel they are trying to force something that is not going to work. There are so many different ways to help fix health care, but they are trying to force something that could totally hurt.

Really, I share your disgust. The outright bribery is astonishing. I just heard that they promised someone in California more water for his district that is drought-stricken if he votes yes. That's tough for a representative. If a district deserves more water, why is it tied to a vote? ARGH.....
I'm mad at the democrats, but truthfully, I'm sickened at the Catholics that are voting for this. This bill is not just giving money to cover abortions, they are giving money to Planned Parenthood, giving money to open new clinics for abortion, and making us pay a tax to fund abortions! Does anyone recall Obama saying "no federal funds for abortion in this bill"!!!
Why can't we call him out on his lies?!

By the way, I think we need to recall Ephesians and remember that we are against some very strong spiritual forces, and PRAY! Friday is the feast of St. Joseph. Let's beg his intercession. For that matter, today is the feast of St. Patrick. He had some real experience with spritual battles. Let's beg his intercession as well!

So nice to read someone who thinks the same way and is bold enough to say it. I live in a very liberal area and find it hard to speak up without sounding like a "radical". Especially when most of my friends who are liberal are respectful enough to hold their tongues around me around me.

I started to comment days ago, but was pulled away from some screaming.

I agree with you very much, Rosemary. It's even uglier now. But, that's why we the people need to stand up and keep fighting this. Just because it was passed, doesn't mean we stop fighting. We just have to fight harder now.
