Liz receives the Sacrament of Confirmation as "Cecilia."

Last night Liz was confirmed in the faith!!!  Her Confirmation saint was Saint Cecilia.  Her oldest sister Anne was her sponsor.

Practicing processing in....

Bishop Carl Mengeling and our dear pastor Father Ed Fride posed with the Confirmands for pictures afterwards.

Now all of my children have been confirmed.  Liz is the youngest.  I'm starting to feel old.  (Probably because I AM old.)  I no longer have any young (as in really young) children.  It's a strange feeling.  Still, there is also a real sense of satisfaction as I see them mature.  That is, after all, the goal of parenting.

Saint Cecilia, please pray for Liz!!

So beautiful and precious! Congrats and blessings on this momentous occasion!!!
How old is Liz again? My memory fails me. Our kids do not get confirmed in our Archdiocese until they are 16 and they have to get special permission I think to have it younger..it should be younger in my humble opinion...around 12 - 13, I think it's good to have the extra graces before high school, but oh well, what does this old lady know! Ha!

LOL Suzanne, Liz is 12 and we confirm at our parish in 7th grade precisely for the reason you give!! Our pastor wants them to get those graces early before they get hit with all the "stuff" of teen and high school years. I also think it's a good time. All OK with you?

Congratulations! The girls look lovely. I agree that Confirmation should be at a younger age. I believe that there a couple of diocese around the country that have moved it back to the First Communion time frame.

My eldest was confirmed this month. There were A LOT of Cecilias in the group! I was wondering if martyrs were on the minds of our young Catholics, during these trying times. . . .
