Enjoying the public parks

Tonight we went on a family outing with my three youngest. We went to a nearby county park that offers these little exercise stations along a hiking path.

It got dark rather quickly, although not as dark as it appears in this picture. This was a wooded section.

There were benches along the way. This is my youngest with her dog.

....And home again.....

We have tried to get out more to our local parks and nature areas, even for short visits. They are so lovely. Our tax dollars pay for them. We might as well enjoy them. And it makes for some really fun family time. We took a frisbee with us, ran ahead with the dog, talked, laughed, took pictures, you know... a quiet relaxing time. And it cost us nothing except for a few bucks at the Dairy Queen on the way home. Fun.

I 100% agree with you that we should all make good use of our local and national parks. Just walking in the woods can be a great way for families to enjoy one anothers company and to switch off the TV for a while!

Great post and Pics!

I know UKOK, some of our best family times have been just playing or hiking in parks-- and all free. And being in a natural setting tend to relax everybody. And best of all-- No tv!
