Grease!!!

Ann Arbor's Father Gabriel Richard High School Dramalums are presenting "Grease." The show opens on Thursday, August 23 and runs until Sunday the 26th.

Today I saw the dress rehearsal and took pictures. It's a great family show and as usual, they do a fabulous job.

YAY! PICTURES! This is the first FGRHS show I haven't seen/heard even a tiny bit. (Usually I come to rehearsals a little early and catch the finale.)

Teddy (my son) is in several photos -- in the second one, he's in the middle with the girl in the red dress leaning on his shoulders.

I can't wait to see the show -- I think I'm going to all of the performances. See you there!

Ruthann, I made sure to get some pictures of Ted. These are just the only ones I could post last night. (They're also among the few well-focused ones.) The show is great and Ted does an outstanding job.

Rose, did you hear about the parent who called the school to complain about Grease? Her complaint was that the storyline contains an unwanted pregnancy. I asked Teddy and he clarified that the version they are doing is the "cleaned up" version, with all references to that storyline, and all smoking and drinking, cut out. Maybe Ms K-M should have made it explicit in the mailing they did that this is considerably different. (I have never seen the play or the movie, so I'm not familiar with the storyline at all.)

Oh my goodness, Ruthann, no I didn't. But there's nothing like that in this version. I saw a horrendous version a few summers ago that I think I'll post about today. That's probably what that parent was envisioning. Lots of bottled cokes in this one...
