A new Apple store

A new Apple store is opening in our local mall tomorrow. I have never used an Apple computer and I'm thinking of going in to check them out. Everything I've heard or read about them sounds so positive. Course, if I go look at them I might decide I just HAVE to have one, right?

Maybe I'll just go in to enter my name in the many drawings they're having on their opening day. That would be the only reason. Or would it?

We've been Mac users since the days of the first Apple McIntosh 512 computers. We still have our first Mac stored away in the basement because if you take off the plastic housing you can see the names of the Apple employees who worked on the computer soldered on the hardware inside. Macs are extremely easy to use and very reliable. Very few issues of compatibility these days. In any case, enjoy the grand opening. I am sure it will be fun.

Have fun visiting the Apple store. I have never owned a Mac bfore, but I *do* own an iPod and think it is just the greatest!

My son "George" in the Coast Guard in California video-chats with my daughter (a member of your parish) with their MacBooks. My granddaughter will recognize her uncle when he comes home on leave next week!

I've used both Mac and PC for ages. For personal use, including graphics and desktop publishing, Mac is the best. I love the ease of use. For most businesses you pretty much see PCs used (I use a PC for work). I'd love to get a new MacBook -- I'm nearly in the market. Maybe I should do some shopping at the new Apple Store! (And I LOVE my iPod, too, and plan to get an iPhone when my contract runs out in August -- I'm a gadget lover).

One comment -- when I was with Teddy all day at U of M's College of Engineering Summer Symposium for Scholars (WHEW!), all I saw were Macs in the labs and offices.

Hmmm. Thanks for the comments. I tried a couple in the store. It's really just a question of spending the money for another computer, I guess. I think when I do I will try a Mac. Unless, of course, I win one in the drawing tomorrow. (smile) You can put your name in until 4:00 tomorrow, Ruthann, and whoever esle might be nearby.
