Fresh Smelling Laundry-- or Not!

If the scent of crisp, clean Spring air is the nicest way for laundry to smell, what is the worst way for it to smell?

How about the smell of a dead chipmunk in the dryer vent? (Sorry for the gross-out factor here.)

Yup. It actually happened. And my dear husband went out at 9:00 at night, (even though he gets up at 4:30am), removed the old ductwork, extracted the offensive remains, and replaced it with some hardware so shiny it looks like the tin man after his makeover. He also put in a one-way door so it can never happen again. Then, he moved the clothes from the washer to the newly rejuvenated dryer.

How cool is that? He will definitely have matched socks in his drawer today.

What a wonderful guy! Make sure you document this -- it could be used when his cause for sainthood comes up.

You can see this in your children, too -- thoughtful, helpful, selfless.

You have a true gem of a hubby! Michigan is certainly home to chipmunk tales. I used to live in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We had a couple of chipmunks find their way into our house one December. Initially, I didn't know what was in the house. I just knew that when I put Christmas wrapped chocolate kisses in candy dishes, they disappeared overnight. No droppings, no chewed up wrappers. It looked like someone had just dumped the candy into a bag and left. Interestingly, they would leave behind hard candies and nuts. They only wanted chocolate. We set a live trap and found the cute little culprits. When we moved, every piece of furniture we picked up rained chocolate kisses. They had been storing the candy inside the couch, the upholstered chair, etc.

Ewwwwww. What a thing to have in my bloglines feed this morning. But, I'm sure not nearly as gross as having it in my laundry. Blech.

Your hubby IS a gem!

Ruthann, thank you. Denise, that's hilarious about the chocolate kisses. I hide chocolate kisses too sometimes. LOL
Mimi, sorry, about the disgust factor. It was pretty bad. Carla, Northern Minnesota, wow, I bet you get even more snow and cold than we do-- and chipmunks too!!
